at the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology in Gdansk, Poland


Experimental and Translational Immunology group (DGO lab) is looking for a talented and passionate individual to join an exciting project to investigate the biology of the skin barrier with relevance to allergy. The OPUS 24 project funded by National Sciences Centre combines cell biology and CRISPR editing and will be carried out in collaboration with the University of Edinburg (UK), Radboud University (the Netherlands) and Medical University in Gdansk (Poland). Responsibilities:

  1. Designing, planning, and carrying out experimental work under the supervision of Principal Investigator, maintaining regular and complete research notes;
  2. Scientific initiative and contribution through regular reporting and publishing, as well as presenting at group meetings and conferences;
  3. Providing help and supervision to members of the group as required;
  4. Contribution to the efficient functioning of the lab including administrative and organizational tasks.

Requirements:

  1. M.Sc. in molecular biology, biology, biotechnology, chemistry, medical biology or similar;
  2. Interest in allergic diseases, skin, immunology and biomedical applications;
  3. Passionate, ambitious, hard-working and motivated for scientific development;
  4. Experience with immunological and molecular biology techniques;
  5. Ability to work independently, in a team and in collaborative projects;
  6. Very good English language skills (written and oral) as required for scientific environment;
  7. The candidate must be enrolled in the PhD program of the Intercollegiate Biotechnology Doctoral School of University of Gdańsk and Medical University of Gdańsk on the starting day of employment. 

Desirable:

  1. Proven hands-on experience in tissue culture, working with human cells and clinical samples;
  2. Experience in imaging by holotomography will be highly beneficial;
  3. Hands-on experience in targeted CRISPR approaches.
